IHEP and 30+ Organizations Urge Increased Funding for Postsecondary Student Success Grants
Published Apr 03, 2026
Washington, DC (March 23, 2026) – IHEP joined more than 30 organizations in signing a letter led by EdTrust urging congressional appropriators to provide at least $55 million in Fiscal Year 2027 funding for the Postsecondary Student Success Grant (PSSG) program. The coalition, which includes higher education, workforce, and advocacy organizations, highlights the importance of sustained investment in evidence-based strategies that improve college retention and completion. With more than seven million unfilled jobs nationwide and persistent gaps in degree attainment, the letter emphasizes that expanding PSSG funding would help strengthen workforce pipelines and support student success. Continued investment in the program will enable institutions to scale proven interventions, such as academic advising, career counseling, and wraparound supports, that improve graduation rates and economic outcomes for students.
