Higher education has the power to change lives–and that change should be for the better. We know that each and every person – regardless of their background, race, or circumstance–can benefit from higher education and, in turn, that education benefits families, communities, and our nation as a whole.
It is not acceptable that some students – especially students of color, low-income students, and women – face systemic barriers as they work to get to and through college; costs continue to grow, completion rates remain low, and wage inequities persist that prevent many of today’s students from realizing the full value of postsecondary education.
To realize our vision of a world in which all people, regardless of background, race, or circumstance, have the opportunity to reach their full potential by participating and succeeding in higher education, we advocate evidence-based, data-informed policy solutions at the national, state, regional, and institutional levels in our four key areas:
- Affordability & Need-Based Aid
- Data & Transparency
- Degree Completion
- Barriers in the Justice System and Education
