IHEP Offers Recommendations to Ensure that all Pell Grant Recipients Can Participate in the New Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 made households with a member receiving a federal Pell Grant eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, the first time that federal broadband benefits have been made available specifically for low-income college students.
To help ensure that all Pell Grant recipients are able to receive these benefits with minimal burden and delay, the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) has submitted recommendations for how the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) can clearly communicate how students can verify their Pell Grant receipt.
