IHEP and 170+ Organizations Urge Congress to Protect and Fully Fund the Pell Grant Program

Washington, DC (June 6, 2025) – More than 170 organizations, led by The Institute for College Access & Success (TICAS), sent a letter to federal lawmakers urging them to address the projected Pell Grant shortfall and reject any proposed eligibility cuts. IHEP joined a range of organizations in signing the letter, including higher education, workforce development, civil rights, labor, finance, and the business community groups, all united in calling for renewed federal investment in a program that helps over seven million students afford college each year. Without action, students from low- and middle-income families face higher costs and reduced access to higher education.
