IHEP Responds to Court Decision on Lawsuit Challenging Trump Administration Actions at Institute of Education Sciences

Washington, DC (June 4, 2025) – Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) President & CEO Mamie Voight released the following statement in response to the court’s denial of a request for a preliminary injunction in IHEP’s lawsuit challenging the U.S. Department of Education’s actions halting the functioning of the Institute of Education Sciences (IES):

“While we are disappointed in the judge’s denial of our request for a preliminary injunction, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protect the integrity of federal education data and are considering our next steps. We will not relent in our defense of the vital data and research developed by the Institute of Education Sciences. These resources help ensure students have the information they need to make informed college decisions, and institutions and lawmakers have the evidence necessary to shape policy in ways that improve student outcomes.”
