Jihad D. DixonCommunications Associate
Jihad D. Dixon is the Communications Associate at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP). In this role, he supports IHEP’s strategic communications and messaging including media engagement, product and messaging development, and social media content and strategy. Before joining IHEP, Jihad served as an Admissions Counselor and the Program Coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment for all new student orientation programs at West Virginia University, a program welcoming over 15,000 students and guests to campus each year.
Jihad graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in higher education administration. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He is also a board member of the WV Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs and the WV CARE (Call to Action for Racial Equality) Coalition.
A first-generation college graduate and advocate for an equitable education system for all students, Jihad is passionate about finding ways to support historically under-served populations through orientation, transition, persistence, retention, and graduation. He believes that higher education is one of the greatest, most valuable resources a person can use to reach some form of stability and success.
