The Bologna Process
Overview
The first area of interest explored in The Measuring Global Performance Initiative is an analysis of the complex but coordinated revolution in post-compulsory schooling that had been unfolding in Europe over the past decade (and that will continue to unfold over the next decade) known as the “Bologna Process,” the details and challenges of which are largely unknown to U.S. policymakers. This work identifies the major lessons learned from the contemporary European experience that can inform state and national postsecondary policy in the U.S. context.
