Programs
IHEP manages a variety of innovative programs to inform key decision makers who shape legislation and support economic and social development.
Unique Partnerships
The programmatic activities of IHEP involve a commitment and contribution from key partners such as the Alliance for Equity in Higher Education, a groundbreaking coalition that represents the shared interests of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges and Universities.
Through its strategic relationship with the Alliance, IHEP has been able to implement several programs such as the Building Engagement and Attainment for Minority Students (BEAMS) project and the National Articulation and Transfer Network (NATN).
Another program directed by IHEP is the Pathways to College Network, which is a national alliance of organizations committed to advancing college opportunity for underserved students by raising public awareness, supporting innovative research, and promoting evidence-based policies and practices across the K-12 and higher education sectors. Pathways hosts a number of resources on its website that provide guidance to practitioners and policymakers on using data and research to implement successful programs for the students they serve.
Global Impact
Since its inception, IHEP’s work has extended to the global context of higher education for effective policymaking. The organization’s global portfolio concentrates on furthering educational opportunities for all, with a particular focus on nations in transition. An example of IHEP’s commitment to foster change through international collaborations is its Global Policy Fellows Program and Global Center on Private Financing of Higher Education.
